Crystal Cave
Located in western Wisconsin, Crystal Cave is a favorite attraction of families and school children alike. The facility has been actively expanding its above ground activities in recent years and wanted a facilities building that could serve as a rest point and meeting area for visitors.
The building design features a simple form with heavy timber framing, earth tone materials and large corner windows that give it a contemporary look. The primary function of the building is a set of toilet rooms and a family restroom, with ample space for school groups and visitors to gain respite for the weather. Interior finishes are durable but elegant featuring real fish fossil tiles in a mosaic. The building has interior hose connections for easily washing down the floors and walls. The indoor lobby connects to the exterior patios through two walls of glazing and looks out over the Tee Rex Minigolf course and rolling native grasslands beyond.
