First Presbyterian Church of Hudson
With a long history in Hudson, First Presbyterian was facing massive restoration to a church built in 1873 and expanded in 1877. After extensive consideration, the congregation decided to expand its mission and membership by instead building a new facility in a highly visible nearby area.
The church thought about how it would use the new space, including a sanctuary, fellowship hall, administration offices and classrooms. Then we collaborated to design a usable space that met its needs while maintaining a sense of history. The new church features a large steeple and spire, reminiscent of its historical home, and the bell from the old church now hangs over the entrance.
