Dipsy Ice Cream Shoppe

At Dipsy Ice Cream Shoppe in Hudson, WI, we transformed an old concrete block machine shed into a vibrant and welcoming retail space. Our design approach focused on maximizing natural light, creating a connection with the street, and preserving the nostalgic charm of traditional ice cream shops.

The sloped roof design not only enhances the building’s architectural presence but also allows ample daylight to flood the interior, creating a bright and airy atmosphere. The strategically placed overhead door offers a seamless connection between the indoor and outdoor spaces, allowing customers to flow freely in and out during the bustling summer months.

Adjacent to the shop is a cozy patio, providing an inviting outdoor gathering space. This area evokes the timeless feel of classic ice cream parlors, offering a place for patrons to relax and create lasting summer memories. The careful balance of modern functionality and nostalgic design elements ensures that Dipsy Ice Cream Shoppe is not just a place to grab a treat, but a destination for community gathering and enjoyment.

This project combines thoughtful architectural design with an eye for detail, revitalizing an underused building and creating a timeless space for generations to enjoy.
